Update

Hello all.
Just a quick note to let you know that Mirabel is back in the hospital.
First of all, she's doing okay, nothing emergent. Since the first of the week we noticed that she hasn't been feeling as well, she was coughing and sneezing and choking a little more than usual.
At her normal clinic visit yesterday they noticed that she is working a little harder to breathe and diagnosed a narrowing of her aorta which limits her cardiac output. They admitted her for observation and today she is going to have a heart cath and they are going to use a balloon catheter to widen the aorta.
She'll be in hospital until at least tomorrow, maybe as long as the rest of the weekend, but when this is all over she'll feel a lot better.
We'll update when we can, we know after all our time in the hospital that there is a lot of waiting and then everything happens all at once.
Thanks for keeping up with Mirabel, she really appreciates it.

Hi Cristy
(Shannon here, from the Support Group). I hope Mirabel's cath goes smoothly - or it went well if it was done already and you get home soon.

Wren had a cath at 6 weeks to widen his aortic valve and part of the aortic arch which was narrow. It was very successful and he didn't need any further intervention till he was almost 2 years old.
